SATURDAY 15TH

All 4 mens sides were in action and the return was a win, a draw and 2 losses.

The Premier lads were fast out of the gates in their top of the table clash against Peringa and led 2 nil after 4 minutes and 3-0 after 20. In an action packed game the visitors bounced back and scored 3 very quick goals of their own before the break to tie it up 3-3.  As much as both sides surged forward for the win, they also defended with grit and the second half was a stalemate. Final result 3-3 and the boys stay unbeaten after 3 rounds.

The Championship side travelled south and shared the goals about in a 4-1 win to also remain unbetean in their league.  Charlie Bennett scored for the third consecutive weekend, with Mikey Reive and Ollie Hill also finding the net. The side sit 3rd on the ladder and are one of three unbeaten sides in the league.

The Division 1 side were at Kaponga, a tough place to travel. The result could of gone either way but the side was pipped 2-1 by the unbeaten home side. Jason Richardson scored for the REDS, and is making a habit of putting his side within reach of a win.

Our Division 3 sides assault on the challenge trophy did not go to plan as they were beaten 5-0 by a more experienced Inglewood side.  The team will head to Eltham next week looking for their second win of the season.

SUNDAY 16TH

The Federation side faced a gruelling trip to Havelock North.

The two clubs played the first ever clash of the two clubs female sides and it was our REDS who scored their second 4-0 victory in as many weeks and with that sit at the top of the Federation League.

Goals were shared about with Fernanda Toscani, Paige Hareb, Danielle Lucinsky and a skillful solo effort by player of the day Jenna Barry securing the win. The side represented the club very well and made a few local spectators aware of where Moturoa AFC is.

The Premier Women took a while to crank through the gears after being tied 1-1 at halftime.  The second half saw the side settle and  play a more accurate passing game to create and finish 7 chances and win comfortably 8-2. Nikki Carmichael nabbed a hatrick, Julie Withers and Laura Styles a brace each and Sol Perrault her first competition goal for her new club. The side play Eltham Wednesday night under lights at Taumata Park.
